Little musings about present life and fear

In the wake of the panic

In the wake of the dread

I am living normally

People gawk like I am out of my head

But I don’t want to give in to the fear mongers

Never been one of the sheep

So while many others are knotted with concern

I am not missing any sleep

I know fear will kill you

Sure as any germ

And that’s the real pandemic here

I think we can all confirm

Living in the grip of terror

Is an agonizing way to die

For though your body lives on presently

Your soul’s hollowed out by the great lie

That we’ve all swallowed force fed

Since we were just tiny babes

That worry makes things better

Worry and anxiety saves

So out we rush in droves

Greedily gobbling up all necessity supplies

Me versus you lifestyle

Who is the fittest

We’ll see who of us survives

When all this mess is over

When only the ?strong? remain

It will be time to take stock and reassess

What exactly did we gain?

A lesson in connection?

Or a new isolation rule?

Hopefully we all learn something

And won’t be played the fool

By the virus that is media

And the fright that sells the best

Let’s see how humankind responds

Will we pass the test?

XXXXXXX

Let’s keep being our best version of ourselves. A true show of character is who you are when things are challenging.
